DMS EXPRESS - Daniela Monica Sara, born 1993, currently resides and works in Zurich. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Design from the ZHdK in 2024.
I am an interdisciplinary designer working in the expanded field of art. I start with design and the material, spatial and sensory qualities of form, developing this into artistic experiences that encourage participation and embodied reflection. I explore how identity can be experienced rather than explained, as an atmosphere, an encounter or a perception in motion. Rather than static objects, my creations are open situations that only come fully into being through the presence of others. Transformation and interaction are integral to the artwork. Depending on the theme, I translate ideas into various materials and formats, ranging from spatial installations to performative settings. The question of how design can create emotional and social resonance always guides my output. I view my practice as a means of creating spaces for connection and relationships where personal experience becomes a shared sensory moment.
